Well by the looks of where he works/lives probably barely making it.

Horrific experience, cannot believe this guy is able to stay in business. He argues to the death of every negative review he gets. I can go on but I'll save it for his response, I have pics I can share as well.

I did not have any issues getting quotes and eventually my problem fixed with other Mac repair places. If you know your issue is simple and cheap, go to him if you don't care about how you are treated. So what did I get? A month of a struggle, loads of unbelievable attitude and rude service and a scratched up MacBook Pro. Was he apologetic when I came back and waited for him to open my computer again to rush to put its pieces back together? Nope! I turn on my computer and sure enough it's someone else's name, background and everything. HE THEN HAD TO CALL ME BACK SAYING HE HAD MY HARD DRIVE. I asked him the same question, he said yes and I left. I was with my partner and he started to shake he was getting so angry with how he was treating me. I took out half of your flash memory, it's not hard to put it back in, you can do it." I told him no, and to put it back in and I sat while he did it. After he mumbled something I asked "wait, is my computer in the same condition as when I dropped it off?" and he rudely said "no. When I got it back he smelled like ALCOHOL and he looked extremely disheveled like he had just woken up. Yeah, after the next two weeks of putting up with him I said forget it, I want my computer back. Dropped off my MacBook Pro and more than a week later I call to follow up, saying "I haven't heard back." He literally says "Ok. Don't go here.Įxtremely unprofessional, rude and smug. They were able to help me retrieve my data at a reasonable price after I was told it was near impossible! My laptop had a small scratch on it when I got it back which was unfortunate but I was just happy to have my data backed up! I was a little worried after reading reviews about Mike and his interactions with other customers at the time but he seemed fine whenever we spoke. I got my computer back within the expected timeframe (even a little earlier if I remember correctly). They retrieved the part and had me bring in my laptop and were able to save my data onto an external hard drive. I called into ZenRepair and they told me they might be able to help me by obtaining a part that would allow them to access my data. I'd called into a number of different repair shops and because the laptop design was new, data recovery options were limited, not guaranteed, and very expensive. My laptop had suddenly stopped working and I was worried about retrieving the data after I learned that the design of the 2016 MacBook Pros made data recovery very difficult. On the other hand, I presumably got in before the rush that will follow this announcement.ZenRepair helped me retrieve the data from my MacBook Pro ( 15-inch, 2016) and save it onto a hard drive a few years ago. Friday of one week to Thursday of the next.

I assumed it was some previously-announced recall that I just hadn't heard about, but apparently it was this recall, which they only announced today, a week after I got my MBP back with a new free battery.įWIW, my turnaround time was 6 days, IIRC. The store representative didn't have any further details, just "apparently it's covered". That some other time was 2 weeks ago, and this time they confirmed the battery needed replacing, and as I was getting my credit card out to pay for it, they informed me that it was covered under some recall. The battery life was still more or less adequate at the time, and at the time I couldn't afford to part with it for a week, so I said I'd bring it back some other time once it got really bad. Last year, I had the "service battery" warning, and took my 2017 MBP in to have them look at it, and they confirmed my battery needed replacing (and were going to charge me for it). Wow, I think I may have had my battery replaced under this recall 2 weeks ago (i.e. I guess I still don't know which recall my battery was part of.Įdit 2: It's probably this recall from 1 year ago. This recall is for some 2015-model MBPs that were sold in 2017, not the 2017 model.
